Wash Up is a luminous, quietly surreal tableau in which Minyoung Kim brings her dreamlike lexicon into sharp, unsettling focus. Set in an ambiguous domestic space, the painting shows an intimate moment of cleansing, or aftermath, charged with emotional dissonance. A cat-like presence, either mid-movement or having just come to rest, inhabits a seemingly ordinary scene that gradually slips into the surreal. The composition hums with stillness and contradiction: clarity meets distortion, vulnerability meets absurdity.
