Dogs dominated their work from 2015 to 2022, symbolizing loyalty but also feral instincts, and now form a backdrop as new subjects emerge. Cats, seen as guarded and the dog’s domestic foe, contrast with dogs who, like backing dancers, suggest both unity and conflict. The dogs’ leftward movement evokes the past resurfacing in the present, as revisiting old motifs can feel like reopening old wounds.
