Minyoung Kim’s paintings transform domestic interiors into quiet psychological landscapes, where curtains, shadows and familiar objects drift between memory, anxiety and dreamlike unease. There is something deeply unsettling about the moment when an ordinary object stops behaving like an ordinary object. A curtain becomes a hiding place. A cherry feels staged with too much intention. A cat behind fabric no longer looks domestic but watchful. The familiar begins to tilt slightly out of balance, and suddenly the entire room changes temperature. This is the world of Minyoung Kim.
