Anno 2025 hebben schilders te maken met een volgende revolutie in beeldproductie. De groepstentoonstelling waar Anja Rausch deel van uitmaakt, heeft de veelzeggende titel click click click. Dat is het geluid van de computermuis die Photoshop aanstuurt of prompts voert aan een AI-programma als Midjourney. De afbeelding van Draco had zo uit een machine kunnen rollen. Maar Rausch gaat de concurrentie aan met ‘ouderwetse’ verf op doek en laat zien dat schilderkunst nog altijd kan wedijveren met technologie. Zij kijkt niet door een telescoop of microscoop maar door de lens van de kunstgeschiedenis.

In 2025, painters face another revolution in image production. The group exhibition Anja Rausch is a part of is tellingly titled click click click. It evokes the sound of a computer mouse controlling Photoshop or providing prompts to an AI program like Midjourney. The image of Draco could have rolled out of a machine. But Rausch competes using ‘old-fashioned’ paint on canvas and demonstrates that painting can still compete with technology. She looks not through a telescope or a microscope, but through the lens of art history.
