View works
Vandeweghe creates a personal viewing experience – pushing the boundaries between satire and the naked truth. Her ability to translate pain into beauty showcases the ephemeral nature of the human condition.
We are human, all too human is a personal exploration of human nature through Vandeweghe's eyes. Her paintings examine the complexity and contradictions of emotions. This exhibition offers both a playful and intimate autobiographical take on the artist's life. With her work, Vandeweghe creates a personal viewing experience – pushing the boundaries between satire and the naked truth. Her ability to translate pain into beauty showcases the ephemeral nature of the human condition.

Nina Vandeweghe is a Belgian artist who graduated from the KASK in Gent in 2012, where she studied painting and illustration. Vandeweghe began her career as an illustrator and developed it into her current practice as a painter with a distinctive and figurative style. Her work is characterized by her use of fictional, cartoon-like characters existing in a complex composition built up layer by layer. This style makes difficult questions and moments in life accessible for the viewer to engage with.
