At CAN Art Fair 2025, Enari Gallery presents a thoughtful pairing of works by Emre Özakat and Dimitris Tampakis, whose practices engage deeply with themes of perception, memory, and material presence. Özakat’s contribution, of muted, meticulously rendered paintings, evokes a sense of disoriented nostalgia, like a childhood memory seen through water, its distorted surfaces revealing half-submerged figures and objects that feel both familiar and unreachable. His work blurs the boundary between image and trace, encouraging quiet contemplation of what remains hidden beneath the surface of the visible. In contrast, Tampakis introduces a sculptural language built from industrial materials, metal, and oxidized textures, where tension and decay give form to a post-human sensibility. His sculptures feel ritualistic and raw, yet composed, reflecting on fragility, survival, and collective transformation. Together, their works form an eerie yet poetic dialogue on the thresholds of memory and embodiment.
