In Blue Hour at the Lake, Bader guides us into that liminal space between day and night, where light dissolves into shadow and nature hovers in quiet tension. At this twilight moment, he doesn’t depict a landscape so much as evoke its emotional resonance, a place both intimate and elusive.
Working in his characteristic open process, Bader lets imperfection steer the painting toward what he calls the “core elements of nature”: the water’s misty surface, the horizon’s blur, the restless shapes of land and sky.
