In Red Boulder Ahead, Raffael Bader continues his exploration of semi-abstract landscapes as emotional terrains. Based on intuitive “notes”, small preliminary drawings, this work evolves organically, shaped as much by process as by intention. Layers of water-miscible oil paint and oil pencil create a nuanced interplay between fluid washes and dense textures, allowing the surface to breathe and remain visibly in flux.
