Purple Vase captures the quiet intimacy of domestic ritual through poetically layered color and gesture. Limniou’s still-life reflects folk-rooted tradition, yet feels dreamlike: a purple vessel emerging in oil, pastel, and crayon, woven into fluid surfaces that dissolve the boundary between object and memory. The work’s saturated hues and soft edges evoke emotional warmth and recollection. Typical of Limniou’s broader practice, the painting transforms a mundane gesture into a visual story, inviting reflection on what we hold, both materially and emotionally. The vase becomes emblematic of connection, between woman, vessel, ritual, and landscape.
