Irina Patrusheva holds a bachelor’s degree in Artistic Processing Technology of Materials from Saint Petersburg Mining University. She lives and works in Russia. Patrusheva's work endeavours to slow down time. Through her paintings, she captures fleeting moments from daily life while reaching for the sublime. Much of her material is sourced from online platforms, where she treats found images as artifacts detached from their original context.

Working primarily with oil paints, she builds a quiet, personal narrative infused with a sense of longing. Rooted in a realistic tradition, her canvases aim to explore sensation, memory, femininity, and desire. The viewer is invited to pause and immerse oneself in the nuanced layers of meaning within her work. Each painting becomes a portal through which one can explore the rich tapestry of human emotion and the ephemeral nature of beauty. Patrusheva’s paintings serve as both a mirror and a window — a mirror reflecting our inner thoughts and a window offering glimpses into worlds both familiar and unknown. Her paintings invite the viewer to linger in the moment, to savor the quiet beauty of the ordinary and to find solace in the spaces where imagination and reality converge.

Material Girl brings together eleven contemporary artists whose works engage with materiality as an idea, examining how images evoke texture, excess, and desire, rather than relying on physical matter alone. The exhibition considers painting as a site where material culture, symbolism, and visual language intersect. The participating artists, Filippo Cegani,...
