They received the Barto Dos Santos Memorial Award in 2021, the NOA15 East of England Award, and were shortlisted for The Worshipful Company of Painters-Stainers Award in 2015.

Lee's work is characterized by repeated motifs of various instruments, portraits, animals, and objects of daily life. Their style can be defined as bold and graphic, while their paintings often recreate scenes seemingly pulled from a comic book or a medieval manuscript.

Their inspiration is drawn from a diverse and remarkable selection of sources, varying from the British Museum Collection, the New Testament, renowned Japanese artists, such as Utagawa Hiroshige, and their personal experiences. Lee re-interprets these influences through their unique perspective, seamlessly blending them into their own artistic vision. This way, Lee's intricately detailed works continue to reveal new secrets and ideas, which excite and puzzle their audience.
