Robin Megannity is a Manchester-based artist whose paintings explore the porous boundaries between memory, truth, and imagination. His layered oil paintings emerge from shadowy dialogues between the tactile and the virtual, where fragments of life intermingle with synthetic reconstructions, provisional sculptures, and staged scenes. Drawing out the solemnity, quietude, and strangeness of painting’s histories, while interrupting these traditions with glitches and digital interventions, Megannity creates hallucinatory domains where the prosaic merges with the hypothetical. He holds an MA in Painting from Manchester School of Art (2021) and a BA Fine Art from the University of Wales Institute, Cardiff (2007). His work has been exhibited nationally and internationally.
